Experiment 2: Lumion Submission

The Space Bet(Link to DropBox)een

The overall theme that I was working towards was sustainability and Peter Eisenman as the architectural concept. What I remember most clearly about Eisenman's architecture that Chris told us is how Eisenman's designs which had gaps in between floors, stairs which lead to nowhere, as well as a bedroom with a column down the middle. It would really make anyone question "WHY?"

With this idea in mind, I decided to take on this deconstructionism as well as relating it to the natural environment for sustainability.

In relation to sustainability, I maximised usage of natural elements such as wood for the platform, grass for for bridge, etc.
I also used a texture I created to represent solar panels which also act as a source of shelter, shade, and generate sustainable electricity.

The unorthodox stairs represents a mountain with all it's crevices and jaggedness.
There is also a stream running down the middle to create a relaxing effect
-insert waterfall sound here-
Besides creating a mountain-like stairs simply because it is natural, I wanted to depict a hiking experience: in the first few minutes of hiking you are already tired and want to go home to relax, but after the long, difficult, and tiresome trek, you become overwhelmed by the beauty of the landscape and feel a sense of self-accomplishment. I also believe that discipline and determination is the mentality we need to succeed at UNSW.
